Near Mentone, AL, about a 1 hr drive from Chattanooga. These are two great locations for a day or weekend trip located next to each other.Little River canyon offers a unique scenic drive along the rim of the canyon with multiple view points and for the more adventurous, hiking trails to the bottom of the canyon. Features several waterfalls and it's great spot for white water kayak fans.

DeSoto Falls State Park is great for a laid back picnic with swimming or hiking options around the falls, or enjoy a day trip in your canoe up the river from the falls. Beautiful and quiet nature scenery with multiple "take a break and swim in the water" places.

Mentone, Alabama: This tourist town is fun for a day or overnight trip during one of their seasonal fairs. Mentone offers some great restaurants, hotels and bed and breakfasts.
